Cyrus "Cy" Randall Underwood Sr.

Cyrus "Cy" Randall Underwood Sr., 84, of Fayetteville passed away Thursday, April 16, 2015 in Springdale. Born April 21, 1930 in Horatio, Arkansas the son of Calvin Jerome and Melissa Dunson Underwood. Mr. Underwood served in the United Air Force during the Korean Conflict; member of the Methodist Church, serving as Sunday School Teacher and Administrative Council; member of the Rotary Club, Chamber of Commerce and spent his career as a Basketball Coach and School Superintendent for Tillar School System and School Superintendent for Booneville School System. He was preceded in death by three brothers, James Underwood, Hugh Underwood and Howard Underwood and six sisters, Ethel Craighead, Lucy Armstrong, Ruth Cavenaugh, Virginia Whisman, Nelle Marcum and Dixie Wilson; one great-grandson, Parker Langston. He is survived by his wife, Rosemary Obee Underwood of 58 years; ome son, Randy Underwood and wife, Ellen of Bentonville; two daughters, Susan Ball and husband, Charles of Fayetteville and Mary Katherine Foy and husband, Jonathan of Longview, Texas; six grandchildren, Jennifer Taylor, Shannon Langston, Ashley Calderon, Katherine Mix, Harrison Scantling and Olivia Scantling; three great-grandchildren, Peyton Langston, Riley Taylor and Kalli Taylor and another great-grandchild on the way. Funeral Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, April 20, 2015 at Nelson-Berna Funeral Home in Fayetteville with Pastor Dennis Stropes officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Memorial Gardens.
