Frances Pemberton

Frances Pemberton, 87, a resident of Wynne, passed away Wednesday. She was born on October 10, 1927, in Miami, Florida, to Alonzo Love and Freeda Ida Montgomery McKenzie. She was a 1945 graduate of Wynne High School, a homemaker and member of Wynne First Assembly of God Church. Frances was the organist/pianist for about 50 years; she taught the College Sunday School class and sung in a Ladies Trio. She was a partner in her husband's business and gave piano lessons to many. Church was a big part of Frances's life; she also enjoyed reading and home decorating. She was a wonderful cook and baker and loved music and her family. Mrs. Pemberton was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two brothers: James McKenzie and Reverend Billy Morris McKenzie, two sisters: Maxine Dunn and Juanita LaRue. Frances is survived by one son: Randy (Cathy)Pemberton of Mankato, Minnesota, one daughter: Tanya (Donald)Roe Donald of Jonesboro, one brother: Donald McKenzie of Wynne, one sister: Nancy Jo Hall of Star City, four grandchildren: Michelle Erne, Laura Pemberton, Lindsey Turner and David Pemberton, Three Great Grandchildren: Maxwell Turner, Genevive Erne and Madeline Erne. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m., Monday, at the First Assembly of God Church in Wynne. Interment will follow in Cogbill Cemetery.
