Robert "Bud" Meigs Boyd

Robert Meigs Boyd "Bud," born Feb. 14, 1920 in Montezuma, Iowa to Nancy and Harry Walter Boyd. A long time resident of Dallas, Texas, until failing health brought him to North Little Rock, Arkansas in 2005 and where he passed away peacefully April 15, 2015 after a long bout with colon cancer. He was preceded by his wife Merle Paterson Boyd and survived by daughter, Paula Boyd Angulo and her husband Chris Angulo, son Stephen Robert Boyd, granddaughter, Juniper Meigs Jones and her children Jaden Meigs Jones and Ivvonna DeLaGarza. Bud was a career pilot, having joined the Air Force as a young man and then stationed in the South Pacific during WW II. Then he went on to fly as a captain for 33 years for then Trans Texas Airlines which slowly evolved to United Airlines. He was a loving father, devoted husband, grandfather and great-grandfather and family man. Bud will always be know for his quiet, kind generous demeanor. He will be placed with his wife in The Abbey Mausoleum at Restland Funeral Home in Dallas, Texas. There will be a graveside service April 20, 2015 at 11 a.m.
