Frank Shanshala departed this life April 17, 2015 at his home, surrounded by family. He was 86. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Thelma, Brother Mike Shanshala and sisters Eleanor Shanshala and Betty Belko. Frank had two daughters, Barbara Bryant (Danny) and Mary Cobb (Steve). He had three Granddaughters Heather Bryant, Amy Darmody (Kevin) and Katelyn Rash (Caleb). Frank and Thelma were blessed with four great-grandchildren. Colin, Benjamin, Annabelle and Lillian. All will miss him dearly and miss the Papa jokes he told to anyone that would listen. Frank was born in Warren, Pa. and grew up playing sports. He remained an avid fan his whole life; always loyal to his Steelers and Notre Dame. Frank served in the United States Army in the 47th Airborne. He later worked at the FBI in Washington and that was where he met Thelma. They married and later moved to Arkansas. Frank worked for Reynolds Metals until his retirement. A Rosary for Frank will be on Monday April 20 at 7 p.m. with Visitation beginning at 6 p.m. at Rest Hills Memorial Park in Sherwood. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday April 21 at 11 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church in Sherwood. The Family wishes to express their gratitude to Hospice Home Care and special Nurses Mary Brown and Lynette Letson for their compassionate care.
