Carolyn Hébert

Carolyn Hébert, of Hot Springs, passed away peacefully on April 17, 2015. She was born on Dec. 23, 1926 in Hot Springs to the late Velma and Henry Coston. Carolyn moved to NYC at 18 to pursue a modeling career but moved back home to marry her love, the late Byron Hébert. She wore many hats during her life: basketball player; singer for the WWII troops at the Arlington; homemaker; real estate agent; golfer; Lakeside Country Club owner; one of the first female money room managers at Oaklawn; active member of the Century Club; and the beloved matriarch of her family. She was predeceased in death by her brother, Henry Coston. She is survived by her daughter, Renee (Eddie) Daugherty; son, Barney Hébert; three grandchildren: Neil (Cyndi) Fisher, Priscilla (Keith) Harvey, and Skyler Hébert; and her three great-grandchildren: Neila and Marcus Fisher and Gibbs Harvey. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at Gross Funeral Home in Hot Springs. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Arkansas Hospice.
