Larry Gene Dunklin

Larry Gene Dunklin, age 60, passed away on April 17, 2015, Thursday night at 11:12 p.m. surrounded by his family.Larry was born on December 3, 1954 in Portageville Missouri. He graduated from Portageville High school in 1972. He attended The College of the Ozarks. He continued his education at the University Of Arkansas School Of Law, earning his Juris Doctor in 1981. He became a distinguished initiated member into the Pi Omicron chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc. in 1984. Larry also served in various leadership positions. He practiced Law in Arkansas for 25 years. He then relocated to Houston, TX where he went on to serve a professor and the Dean of ITT Technical Institute. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Ruby Dunklin of Portageville, Mo. Siblings, Gloria Dunklin, Ronald C.J. Dunklin, and Marvin Dunklin. Larry leaves behind his soul-mate and loving wife of 10 years, Sula Dunklin. Also preserving his memory with love and gratefulness are his youngest sister Mrs. Deborah Ponder. His six children, Kimberlee Dunklin, Sherra Armstrong, Jessica Dunklin-Williams, Matthew Carr, Nicole Nooner, and Cedric Stanfield, seven grandchildren, Kandice Lewis, Kannice Howard, Carter Rapley, Cedric Stanfield Jr., Heaven Stanfield, Destiny Stanfield, Treyton Stanfield and one great child, Kyla Brown. The family will receive friends Friday, April 24, 2015 from 4 til 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Homegoing celebration will be Saturday, April 25, 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church, 811 S.A.
