Erma Jean Hill-White 74, of Little Rock, Ark., passed peacefully on April 16, 2015. She was born to the late Marie and Walter Hill Sr. September 5, 1940 in Military Heights. Erma Jean professed her faith in Christ in the early 70's and was baptized at 15th Street Church of Christ where she was a faithful and active member. She was a compassionate, God-fearing and courageous mother, grandmother and humanitarian. She was mostly known for her craft as a seamstress which started at the age of 13 when she designed and hand-sewed her first party dress. Erma Jean started her entrepreneurship in 1975 when she was laid off from Baldwin Electronics. She did business with Little Rock Central High School and Jones Cleaners as well as many people of the community. She was known for her infections laugh, down home cooking and kind spirit. Erma Jean was the pillar and strength of the White Family. Preceded in death by her husband, JD White; two brothers, Winston Hill and Herman Hill. Leaving behind a legacy trail for her children, Jerry White Sr., Monica White-Sloan, Frederick White, Andrea White, Veronica White-Clardy and David (Margaret) White; 16 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one brother, Robert Hill Sr.; three sisters, Carolyn (Jimmy) McDonald, Bernice (Edward) Reed and Bobbie (Carlton) Byrd and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. A celebration of her life will be Saturday, April 25, 2015, 11 a.m., at Church of Christ, 915 Curtis Sykes Drive, North Little Rock, Ark. Interment will follow at Rest In Peace Memorial Gardens, Hensley, Ark. Family visitation will be Friday, April 24, 2015, 6-7 p.m., at Ruffin & Jarrett Funeral Home, 1200 S.
