Yvonne Hathcock

Yvonne Hathcock, 80, of Arkadelphia, Arkansas, formerly of Pine Bluff, went to her eternal home to be with the Lord, Monday, April 20, 2015. She was born, March 21, 1935, in Elkhorn, Wisconsin, to Edward and Tina Huisman VandenBerg. She attended school in Michigan, Texas and Arkansas, graduating from Bismarck High School. She graduated from UAPB with a Bachelor degree in English and graduated from ASU with a Master's degree in English. She had worked for the Department of Corrections in the printing department as an Industry Supervisor and for the Arkansas Gazette and Democrat newspapers. She was a member of First Baptist Church, the Southern States Correctional Association and the UAPB & ASU Alumni Association. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Calvin Hathcock; a son, Thomas Edward Hathcock; a daughter, Patricia Jan Richardson; her parents; a sister, Janet Hendrix. Survivors include sons, Ronald Charles Hathcock, (Bobbye) of Dallas, Texas, Russell Calvin Hathcock, (Laurie) of Alexander; a brother, Clayton VandenBerg of Houston, Texas; sisters, Virginia Walker of Arkadelphia, Barbara Page of Hot Springs; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday at Robinson's. Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Thursday, April 23, 2015, Chapel of Ralph Robinson & Son with Reverend Kenneth Thornton officiating.
