Jonathan Robert Greer, 43 of Benton died Saturday, April 18, 2015. He was born November 19, 1971 in New Orleans, La. Jonathan was a member of First Baptist Church in Star City. He enjoyed golf, reading and hunting, but horse racing was his passion. Jonathan was a 1990 graduate of Star City High School, a 1994 graduate of University of Central Arkansas with a Bachelor of Science in Public Administration and in 2000 he graduated from William H. Bowen School of Law with a Juris Doctorate. Jonathan worked as a grants administrator at the Southeast Arkansas Economic Development District from 2000-2002 before serving as legal counsel for AAC (Association of Arkansas Counties) from 2002-2007. He left AAC in 2007 to serve as Saline County Attorney, a position in which he advised county elected officials, the quorum court, the Saline County planning board, the airport commission and the rural fire departments before returning as the AAC liaison for the Arkansas Circuit Clerks Association, the Arkansas County Tax Collectors Association, the Arkansas County Assessors' Association and the Arkansas Association of Quorum Courts in 2014 until present. Jonathan is preceded in death by his grandfather, Robbie "Dink" Clary and his father, Bobby Joe Greer. Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Carolyn and Dale Holland of Star City; his wife, Karen McBryde Greer of Benton; son, Charlie Gage Greer of Benton; sister, Erin (Bennett) Weidemann of Poquoson, Va.; grandmother, Syble Clary of Pine Bluff; nieces, Ayla and Lexi Weidemann and Leah Lauderdale. Memorial services are 2 p.m. Friday at First Baptist Church in Star City with Bro. Bruce Huddleston and Bro. Jarrod Pettit officiating. Visitation is 12 noon-until funeral time Friday at the church. There will be a private graveside. Honorary pallbearers are Adam Trout, Bubba Humphrey, Brandon Green, Bo Ryall, Kenny Clark, Jason Trout, Jason Jenkins, Kevin White, Jon Kelly White, Jason Ross, Joey Ratterree and Ross Adcock.
