Rebekah Compton Lindsey

Rebekah Compton Lindsey, 88, died April 15, 2015 at home. She was born on October 21, 1926 to Richard Lacy and Mae Milam Compton in Halifax County, Virginia. A gracious and gentle maker of beautiful things, she was a loving mother to Nancy Lindsey Burris and special parent to grandson Samuel Colton Burris of Fayetteville, who survive her, as do her two brothers Leon and Wallace Compton. Mrs. Lindsey graduated from Averett College (now University), in Danville, Virginia and worked as secretary for 40 years for Dr. Francis McGovern in Danville, and after his death, for Howard Dunn in Rehabilitation, also in Danville. A private memorial service will be held at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Fayetteville. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to your favorite charity. Arrangements are under the direction of Benton County Memorial Park Funeral Home in Rogers.
