Barbara Ann Barnett Courson

Barbara Ann Barnett Courson, age 79, of Crossett, Ark., went to meet Jesus and loved ones who have gone on before on Saturday, April 25, 2015. She was born Aug. 11, 1935 in Hamburg, Ark.to her parents, Jack and Bertie Mae Giles Barnett. She was a lifelong homemaker and Sunday School teacher; she enjoyed cross stitching and reading. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Teresa Ann Courson Donald; parents, Jack and Bert Barnett; a brother, Willard Fay Barnett; and two sisters, Mary Alice Leigh and Julia Louise Pruitt. Survivors include her husband of 60 years, William Edward Courson, Sr. of Crossett; two sons, William Edward, Jr. (Freda) and Mark Claiborn, both of Crossett; three daughters: Gayla Diane Snelgrove (Eric) of Leesville, Brenda Carlynn Beasley, and Sonya Alice Knight (James), both of Crossett; a son-in-law, Greg Donald of Crossett; a sister, Beth Leigh of Hamburg; and a brother, Gerald Barnett of Oklahoma City; grandchildren: Brandi Mann, Jon Beasley (Chasidy), Daniel Beasley, Ally Donald, Katie Haynie (Stan), Cory Snelgrove, Clint Snelgrove, Carly Cooper, Rachael Cooper, Nick Courson and Brooke Courson; great-grandchildren: Hannah Swaim, Andy Trichell, Tyler Trichell, Davyn Whitehead, and Courson Haynie. Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at Mt. Olive Baptist Church with Rev. Eric Hodge officiating. Interment will follow at Pinewood Memorial Park under the direction of Jones Funeral Home of Crossett, Ark. Visitation will be held on Monday from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Mt. Olive Baptist Church.
