Gerald Kenneth Nutt, 81, of Fordyce died Monday April 27, 2015 at his home. Born August 20, 1933 at Tinsman, he was the son of the late Blan Sidney Nutt and Treasy Gardner Nutt. He was a member at First Baptist Church of Fordyce where he was an Honor Life Deacon. He worked as a logging contractor for sixty two years and was an avid sportsman, enjoying hunting and fishing. He was preceded in death by his wife, Melissa Ann Nutt. He is survived by his son, Tony Nutt and wife Hettie of Fordyce; grandchildren, Kristen Brandon and husband Brady of Arkadelphia, Lance Nutt and wife Tiffany of Maumelle; great-grandchild, Lucy Kate Brandon; two sisters, Wanda Martin of Harrell, Margie Short of Monroe, La.; brother-in-law, Robert Gray and wife Marietta of Fordyce; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Benton Funeral Home in Fordyce. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church of Fordyce with Rev. Rusty Ross and Rev. Jeremy Horton officiating. Memorials may be made to Earnest Cemetery or the Gideons. Arrangements are by Benton Funeral Home of Fordyce.
