Franklin D. Eddington, 81, of Jacksonville died Wednesday, July 29th. He was born in Pocahontas, Ark on November 30, 1933 to Joseph and Cora Eddington. Frank was drafted in the Army then joined the Air Force, retiring as a MSgt. after 23 years of service. After retiring, he went to work for the Pulaski County Sheriff's department. Frank was preceded in death by his parents and half-brothers, Elmer Whittenburg, Gardner Eddington, Ted Eddington, Raymond Eddington and half-sisters Iva Bullard, Ida Spicer, Arzella Triplett and Imogene Eddington. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 57 years, Mona Dodson Eddington, son, David Eddington, daughter, Julie (Steve) Williams, sister, Wanda Tims, grandchildren, Matthew Williams, Trisha (Jimmy) Gomez, Laura (Jordan) Scott and great-grandchildren, Aiden, Jayden and Alexis Gomez. Frank, also known as "Big Edd", was passionate about photography, electronics and his computer! He was an avid reader and watched Jeopardy every day. Most of all, he loved his family and was a wonderful husband, daddy and paw-paw – we miss him so! He was a gentle giant that never lost his cool. Patience was his finest quality. The family will receive visitors from 3–5 p.m. Sunday, August 2nd at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Funeral Home, 7724 Landers Rd., North Little Rock. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM , Monday, August 3rd in the chapel at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills. Interment will follow at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery, 1501 W.
