Robert H. Keys Jr., age 66, of Fayetteville, died Sunday, July 26, 2015, after a lengthy illness. He was born April 24, 1949, in El Dorado, Ark., the son of Robert Keys Sr. and Christine Myan Keys. His parents, a sister, Carolyn Griffin, and a brother-in-law, Bryan Griffin, preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Keys; two sons, Bradford Keys of Fayetteville and Rob Keys and his wife Julie of Fayetteville; a daughter, Crystal Putnam and her husband Chris of Rogers; three grandchildren, Maya Keys and Gemma and Jewel Putnam; a brother, William E. Keys and his wife Lisa of El Dorado; a niece, Ashley Davis and her husband Larry; two nephews, Michael Griffin and Allen Keys; a great-nephew, Dustin Davis, and numerous other family members. Robert graduated from El Dorado High School in 1967 and had a long career in transportation management and logistics. He spent most of his life in Arkansas and was an avid Razorbacks fan. In addition to sports of all kinds, he enjoyed music and drawing. Robert was an animal lover as well, especially his beloved Akita named Ringo. Above all else, though, Robert will be remembered as a wonderful Grandpa and Bop Bop. Nothing brought him more joy than spending time with Maya, Gemma and Jewel, and he never failed to put a smile on their faces. Cremation was by Moore's Chapel, and a private burial will be held in El Dorado. A public memorial service with a reception to follow will be held Sunday, Aug. 9 at First United Methodist Church in El Dorado at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, Robert's family asks for donations to Union County Protective Animal Society, 1000 Sunset Road, El Dorado, Ark. 71730.
