Joseph M. Harper, age 69 of Cabot, passed away Monday, August 3, 2015 in Little Rock, Arkansas. He was born July 3, 1946 in Summerville, Georgia to Jesse and Harriet Dodson Harper. Mr. Harper served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. On June 10, 1965, he married Janie Vanderburg in Hot Springs. Following his military service, Mr. Harper began a 30 year career as a C130 aircraft mechanic with the Air National Guard. Mr. Harper loved playing blue grass music with various bands in the area where he was skilled in many instruments. He enjoyed woodworking and was a member of the Baptist faith. He was preceded by his wife, Janie on February 15, 2012 and his father, Jesse Harper. He is survived by his daughter, Marion (Robert) Coleman of Bentonville; son, Vance (Kimberly) Harper of Cabot; mother, Harriet Patrick of Hot Springs; five grandchildren, Dallas Coleman, Kindal Coleman, Cade Harper, Kaylin Harper, Callie Harper; brother, John (Mary) Harper of Hot Springs Village. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, August 6, 2015 at Moore's Cabot Funeral Chapel with Mr. Chuck Ball officiating. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m. prior to the service.
