James Patrick Sheehan

JAMES PATRICK SHEEHAN, age 58 of Sherwood and a life-long resident of North Little Rock, passed away Aug. 5, 2015 while traveling in Custer, S.D. James was an avid motorcyclist and was planning to attend the annual Sturgis motorcycle rally in SD. James was a former member of the Arkansas National Guard as well as a retired Army Reservist with 20 years of service. James was also a veteran of Desert Storm and was the recipient of numerous awards and decorations to include the Army's Good Conduct and Achievement medals as well as the Overseas Service Ribbon, the Armed Forces Reserve medal and many others. In 2012 James also retired from the federal work force as a government employee while assigned to the 412th Theater Engineer Command at Camp Pike in North Little Rock as the regional coordinator for all Homeland Defense to civil authorities for FEMA Region VI. James graduated from Southern Arkansas University with an Associates Degree in Aviation and had also attended numerous military and national preparedness courses in furtherance of his position with the government. He loved to travel on his bike and enjoyed NASCAR, his family and friends. James is survived by his parents, Pat and Nancy Sheehan of North Little Rock, his son Jason Sheehan of Bryant, his grandson Patrick Sheehan, his sister Vicki Briley and her husband Lieutenant Colonel Duke Briley (retired) of Hot Springs. He is preceded in death by his wife, Arlene. Funeral arrangements have not yet been announced but will be handled by Roller-Owens Funeral Home, 5509 John F. Kennedy Blvd., North Little Rock. Burial will be at the Veterans Cemetery also in North Little Rock.
