Reano "Pop" Harmon Curry, 101, of Maumelle passed away on Monday, August 10, 2015. He was born to the late Robert and Gertrude Curry in Hempstead County, Arkansas on December 29, 1913. Reano spent his life dedicated to his wife, Ima Jean of 76 years, children and grandchildren. In his teens, he went out as a merchant marine and sailed to China and Europe to help support his family. As a young man he was a Texas Ranger, deputy sheriff and a police chief. He was a mechanic who worked on anything from small engines, automobiles to diesel trucks and farm equipment and also enjoyed working on his grandsons' racecars. He loved to be outdoors; he was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved taking his grandkids and great-grandkids out to teach them how to hunt and fish. Reano was preceded in death by his wife, Ima Jean Curry. He leaves to cherish his memory his children: Patsy Diamant, Jerry R. (Marge) Curry, David A. (Andrea) Curry and James K. Curry; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and a host of extended family and friends, all who will miss him dearly. Graveside services will be at Pinecrest Memorial Park, 7401 Hwy. 5 N., Alexander, Arkansas 72002 on Saturday, August 15, 2015 at 2 p.m. with Travis Matthews and James Thomason officiating. General visitation will be held at Griffin Leggett Forest Hills Funeral Home on Saturday, August 15, 2015 before the graveside services. In lieu of flower, donations in his memory may be made to Premier Health and Rehab, 3600 Richards Road, North Little Rock, Arkansas 72117.
