John Paul Weiner

John Paul Weiner, age 97, of White Hall, died Thursday, August 13, 2015, at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff. Mr. Weiner was born November 26, 1917, in Fairfield, Illinois, a son of the late Anthony and Minnie F. Sims Weiner. Mr. Weiner moved to Arkansas as a young child with his family and was reared and educated in Pleasant Grove, where he attended the Pleasant Grove schools. He served in the U. S. Army during World War II. Upon returning from the war, he came to Pine Bluff and began working at the Pine Bluff Arsenal, where he worked for 25 years, retiring in 1970. He then worked for the Bunge Corporation for several years. He was a member of Watson Chapel Baptist Church. Mr. Weiner was preceded in death in 1996, by his wife, Alena B. Holtzlander; sisters, Blanche Hornbeck and Lillian Bullock and a brother, V.A. Weiner. He is survived by a host of nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be Monday, August 17, 2015, at 2 p.m. in Memorial Park Cemetery by Ralph Robinson & Son Funeral Directors with Reverend Todd Howard officiating.
