Letha Bain Sutton

Letha Bain Sutton, age 95, a longtime resident of Texarkana, Ark., entered Heaven's gates on Aug. 15, 2015. Born Sept. 14, 1919 at Washington, Ark., she was a daughter of the late William Thomas Bain and Annie Gertrude Franklin Bain. She was a graduate of Blevins High School. Mrs. Sutton retired after 25 years of service with J. C. Penney Company. She was a faithful member of Fairview United Methodist Church in Texarkana for over 43 years. After moving to Pine Bluff in 2001, she attended Wesley United Methodist Church. Her husband of 35 years, Roy Lee Sutton, predeceased her on June 17, 1977. Also preceding her in death are her son, Bobby Don Sutton on Dec. 27, 2000; a grandson, Robert Phillips, Jr. on Jan. 11, 1992; and her six siblings: Paul, Elbert, Forest, Robert, and Richard Bain and Jean Lauterbach. Survivors include her daughter, Carolyn Phillips (Robert); grandchildren: Kimberly Bland (Gary), Holly Humphrey (Philip), and Shane Sutton; and great-grandchildren: Trevor Kesner, Kaiden, Carson, and Colby Bland, Riley Sutton, Ali and P. J. Humphrey, Jordan Bland, and Harold Stewart. Visitation will be Tuesday, 9:00 at Fuller Hale-South Funeral Chapel in Pine Bluff, Ark. with the service following at 10 a.m. Committal services will be held at 3:30 p.m. at East Memorial Gardens in Texarkana, Ark.
