Loyce Eugene Sullivan

Loyce Eugene Sullivan, age 82, of Warren, Ark., died Saturday, Aug. 15, 2015 at John R. Williamson Hospice House in El Dorado, Ark. He was born Jan. 30, 1933 at Ward, Ark., the son of Earnest and Lena Sullivan. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers: Leon, Norman and Troy. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Janice Virginia Simmons Sullivan; three sons: Tony (Phyllis) Sullivan of Bryant, Doug (Gena) Sullivan of Warren, Bruce (Mitzy) Sullivan of Warren; also survived by nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. He was Baptist in faith and a member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Warren. Gene enjoyed hunting and fishing and also was an avid golfer where he enjoyed great success having won with his partner, Monroe Mitchell, approximately 138 championship flights in golf tournaments. He also had 13 hole-in-ones. He enjoyed spending time at the deer camp (Camp 13 Hunting Club) where he will be missed. Gene served his country in the Arkansas National Guard of Warren and retired with 20 years of service having obtained the rank of Captain and Company Commander. He was a successful building contractor of Simmons and Sons Construction where he was a partner in the family business. He constructed many banks, churches, schools, etc. through out South Arkansas. Funeral services are scheduled 2 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 18, at Frazer's Funeral Home in Warren with Bro. Jim Bales and Bro. Matt Overall officiating. Interment will follow at Oakland Cemetery in Warren. Serving as pallbearers will be grandsons: Trent Sullivan, Cody Sullivan, Spencer Sullivan and granddaughter, Skye Sullivan Clanton and friends, Gary Thornton and Monroe Mitchell. Honorary Pallbearers are his Men's Sunday School Class, Camp 13 Members, and Dr. Kerry Pennington. Visitation is from 6-8 p.m., Monday, Aug. 17, at Frazer's.
