Richard Nichols Guyan

Richard Nichols Guyan, of Conway, Ark., passed away Aug. 13, 2015. He was born May 9, 1931 to the late Martha and Roy Guyan of Litchfield, Ill. He is survived by his wife Beverly; two children, Becky Cuthbertson (Jim) of Montrose, Colo. and David Guyan of St. Louis, Mo. He has four grandchildren: Patrick Kelly, Daniel Kelly, Megan Herzog, and Austin Guyan. Richard received a Doctor of Optometry degree in 1954 after which he served two years in the US Army at Fort Campbell, Ky. Following his discharge, he returned to Litchfield to practice optometry with his father, Dr. Roy Guyan and continued practicing after his father's death. He was an active member of St. Timothy United Methodist Church. In 1997, Richard and Beverly moved to Fairfield Bay, Ark. where they joined Presbyterian Kirk of the Hills. In 2014, they moved to Conway and joined the First United Methodist Church there. Richard always became involved with various community activities wherever he lived.
