Gale D. Dennler, 77, of Searcy, Arkansas, formerly of Le Mars, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, August 11, 2015 in Searcy. Funeral services will take place at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, August 18, 2015 at the Mauer - Johnson Funeral Home of Le Mars. Rev. Janis M. Christensen of the Presbyterian United Church of Christ will officiate. Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery in Merrill, Iowa. Military honors will be conducted by Wasmer Post #241 of the American Legion. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday at the Mauerb-bJohnson Funeral Home. Expressions of sympathy may be directed through www.mauerjohnsonfh.com. Gale Duncan Dennler was born on August 27, 1937 in Le Mars, Iowa to Alvin Matthew and Margaret (Robertson) Dennler. He graduated from Le Mars Central High School in 1955. Gale enlisted in the United States Air Force on July 29, 1955. He served as an aircraft mechanic until earning an honorable discharge on July 28, 1959. On February 28, 1959, Gale and Idalene Caldwell were united in marriage in North Little Rock, Arkansas. They moved to Le Mars shortly after their marriage. Gale worked at the Chevy garage and as a truck driver. In 1964, they moved to Jacksonville, Arkansas where they raised their two sons. Gale retired from Pacific Truck Lines in 1994. They returned to Le Mars in 1996 to spend their retirement years. Idalene passed away on February 11, 2010. Recently, Gale moved to Searcy, Arkansas to be closer to his family. He is survived by his two sons, Douglas Dennler of Judsonia, Arkansas and Richard Allen Dennler and his wife Sandy of Searcy, Arkansas; two grandchildren, Jennifer of Judsonia, Arkansas and Richard Allen Dennler Jr. of Searcy, Arkansas; five great-grandchildren; sisters, Gladys Zieger of Miller, South Dakota and Betsy Schweitzberger of Kingsley, Iowa; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded by his parents; wife, Idalene; and a sister, Jean Manning.
