Windle F. Byrd of Sherwood, Arkansas, passed away on August 17, 2015. Born on August 6, 1929 in Damascus, Ark. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ervin and Virda Byrd, a sister, Martha Van Pelt, brother, Bob Byrd, and two wives, Elizabeth and Marilyn. He is survived by his wife, Myrtle Tindall Byrd, that he always called his "beautiful bride"; four sons: Dennis Byrd and wife, Karen of Austin, Jim Tindall and wife Fay of Mountain View, Kenny Tindall of North Little Rock, and Roger Tindall of Mountain View, four daughters: Linda Powers of North Little Rock, Rhonda Owen and husband Darren of Vilonia, Jana Patterson and husband Pat of Maumelle, 17 grandchildren: Jennifer Bloom and Mitch of Cabot, Brad Byrd of Austin, Bobby Powers and Kim of Siloam Springs, Rodney Tindall and April of Conway, David Scott Tindall, Adam Tindall and Sarah of North Little Rock, James Owen and Heather, Jared Owenb and Elizabeth, and Joshua Owen all of Conway, Michelle Braswell of North Little Rock and Tina Ramsey of Maumelle, a special friend, Kylie Teague of Vilonia, 14 great-grandchildren; one brother, Harold Don Byrd of Little Rock, and a host of extended family and friends. Windle was a faithful member and Deacon of Faith Baptist Church in North Little Rock for 24 years. He served our country in Austria for three years during the Korean War. He was retired from the Arkansas Department of Health after 36 years. He also, was an avid reader, worldwide traveler, master domino player, loved searching for words, and best known for sharing his $2.00 bills! Visitation will be Thursday, August 20, from 6 to 8 p.m. and funeral service Friday at 10 a.m., both will be at Faith Baptist Church in North Little Rock, Pastors officiating: Jeff Hulsizer, Freddie Holmes and Bob Weigel.
