Robert G. "Bob" Strawbridge

Robert G. "Bob" Strawbridge, 83, of White Hall, passed away Tuesday, August 18, 2015, at Jefferson Regional Medical Center. Mr. Strawbridge was born June 19, 1932, in Vernon, Alabama, a son of the late John D. and Helen M. Hill Strawbridge. He was reared and received his education in Vernon, where he graduated from Lamar County High School in 1952. He also attended Auburn State University. He joined the United States Army and served during the Korean War. He married Dorothy Stone Cole on May 9, 1953, in Columbus, Mississippi. Mr. Strawbridge worked for Goodyear Tire Company for 20 years. He owned and operated Tire Warehouse in Pine Bluff for 30 years. He was a member of Rison Church of Christ. Being an avid Razorback fan, he was a member of the Road Hogs and traveled with the Razorbacks. He was an avid golfer and was a member of the Rosswood Country Club Golf Association. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Dot Strawbridge of White Hall; a son, Robert Cole (Laura) Strawbridge of St. Louis, Missouri; two daughters, Carol (Ron) Marsh of Jonesboro, Arkansas and Michelle (Fenton) Budd of Atlanta, Georgia; three grandchildren, Ronnie (Amanda) Marsh, Nick Marsh, and Stephen Marsh; one great granddaughter, Ali Marsh. He was preceded in death by a brother, John D. Strawbridge. A memorial service will be held Friday, August 21, 2015, 7 p.m., in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson and Son with Mr. Lanis Lindsey officiating. A visitation will begin at 6 p.m. prior to service.
