Lucille Sherwood Senning

Lucille Sherwood Senning, 98, widow of Edward Christian Senning, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 19, 2015, at Crestpark. Mrs. Senning was born Dec. 14, 1916, in Stuttgart to B. Frank and Sophia Busch Sherwood. She was a 1935 graduate of Stuttgart High School and member of First Christian Church. She retired in 1984 from the USDA. Besides her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Sandra Kay Shumate; brothers, Asa, Lloyd, Walter, Ervin and Clarence Sherwood; and sisters, Vera Sheeks, Edith Stratton and Anna Allen. Survivors are sister, Lorea Williams of Little Rock; son-in-law, Charles Shumate of Stuttgart; grandson, Scott Shumate of Stuttgart; nine nieces, including her caregiver Joyce Massengill of Little Rock; and two nephews. Funeral services, officiated by the Rev. Hart Moore, are 2 p.m. Monday at Turpin Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Lone Tree Cemetery.
