Luther Eugene Freeman

Luther Eugene Freeman, 92, of Fayetteville, Ark., passed away on Aug. 21, 2015. He was born on Jan. 17, 1923 in Greenwood, Ark. to Luther AB and Ruth Ann Freeman. He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Richard and Frank Freeman; and one sister, Margaret Netherton. He was a Veteran of WWII and served as T-4 Sergeant of the 534th Boat and Shore Regiment of the United States Army. He graduated from the School of Pharmacy in 1949, from the University of the Ozarks, formally the College of the Ozarks. He worked as a pharmacist in Northwest Arkansas for over 60 years, retiring from the University of Arkansas Health Center in 1999. He served on the Equalization Board in Fayetteville, Ark. for several years. He was a faithful member and deacon of First Baptist Church of Fayetteville for 60 years. He dedicated his life to serving others. He leaves a legacy of being a wonderful husband and father who was totally committed to his Faith and Family. He is survived by his wife, Wanda Freeman, of 69 years; two daughters, Jeanne Ann Krasser of Manchester, Conn. and Susan Wizer of Fayetteville, Ark.; three grandchildren: Stephen Krasser, Freeman Wizer, and Ann Wizer Difani. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday at Moore's Chapel. Funeral service will be 2 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2015 at First Baptist Church in Fayetteville with burial to follow in Fairview Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
