Jim Moss, 85, of Hot Springs, passed away Saturday morning at National Park Medical Center. Jim was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War, a pharmacist investigator for the Arkansas Department of Health for 32 years, and before that a pharmacist for 18 years at the original downtown location of Walgreens. A native of Beebe, he was a graduate of Hot Springs High School, attended the University of Arkansas and graduated in 1957 from the University of Arkansas School of Pharmacy. Jim was preceded in death last November by Suzy, his beloved wife of 57 years. He is survived by brother Bill (Gerry) Moss, sons Randy (Kathie) and Mike (Tracy) Moss; grandchildren John Moss, Jennifer Moss, Austin Moss, Kendall Moss, CJ Moss and Hallie Moss; great-grandson Remy Moss-Mazur; sister-in-law Dorothy Rogers; nephews Rick (Janice) Rogers, Tony (Cheri) Rogers, Brad Moss, Steve (Pat) Henry and Greg Henry; and numerous cousins. He is also survived by Tucker, his trusty Shih-Tzu who became the daily focus of his life following the passing of his wife. Visitation will be Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home. A funeral service with Pastor John McCallum officiating will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Caruth-Hale, followed by a private graveside service. Pallbearers are the grandsons and Rick and Tony Rogers. Honorary pallbearers are John Bates, Loren and Rosie Furnas, Ed and Mary Hudnall, Ed and Jean Mills, Bob and Bonnie Biles, Dr. Edward Warren, Dr. Albert Jones Chinn and Dr. Kevin Hale.
