CHARLES DAVID "CHUCK" ENGSTROM, 60, Sherwood. On the 26th day of August, 2015, Charles David "Chuck" Engstrom left this earth after a brief but fierce battle with cancer. Born Aug. 24, 1955 in Munich, Germany, he was the fourth child born to John G. Engstrom and Ferry Geraldine Kinard Engstrom. Chuck graduated from Sylvan Hills High School in 1973 and attained a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from the University of Arkansas. He was a loyal and gifted structural engineer in his cousin's firm, H. James Engstrom and Associates, Inc. for more than 35 years. Chuck was predeceased by his father, mother, brother George A. Engstrom and sister Geraldine Engstrom Poehlman. He is survived by his daughter and the love of his life, Taylor Renee Engstrom, of Sherwood, Ark., his brother Harold Bruce Engstrom of Warrenton, Ore., nephew Mitchell W. Moore and niece Amanda Moore Talley, both of Searcy, Ark., and many other relatives and friends. During his short time on earth Chuck touched many people personally and professionally – many of his close friends were trusted bonds of both. He was a man with many passions; he was a zealous motorcyclist and an automobile admirer. He loved nature and spent as much time as he could on his boat on Greers Ferry Lake. He loved his dogs and sitting with them on his deck. Chuck was passionate about life and lived it to the fullest. His many friends, colleagues and family will remember his intense ability to focus on details, his foresight, and his commitment to doing things right the first time because "doing it right is better than doing it twice." Chuck's Final Ride will begin Monday at 11 a.m. at Smith North Little Rock Funeral Home and end at Roselawn Cemetery where he will rest in the company of his mother, father and brother. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Chuck's memory to Central Arkansas Radiation Therapy Institute.
