Una Hobbs Smith

UNA HOBBS SMITH, age 79, of Little Rock, died Thursday, Aug. 27, 2015. She was born on Oct. 1, 1935 in Batesville to the late Harrison Asbury Hobbs and Jeffie Irene. She is survived by her son, Adam Harrison Smith of Little Rock; sisters, Billie Jean Healy and her husband, Loyd and Kathleen Cucci of Maumelle; nephew, Stuart Healy and his wife, Linda and great nephews, Andrew and Sean Healy of Maumelle; niece, Alicia Cuccia-Kenston and her husband, Keith of Mokena, Ill.; devoted cousin, Larry Fullbright of Sherwood; and Peaches, her faithful, furry companion. Preceded in death by her loving husband, William (Bill) Smith. Una was employed by Southwestern Bell for 31 years as supervisor of transmission engineering. Her hobby was doing the New York Times crossword puzzle in ink! She was an active supporter of CARTI and PARK as well as the Humane Society of Arkansas. She was also an advocate of Animal Village, Little Rock Compassion Center, and Arkansas Food Bank. Her great passions were her love for her family, care for animals, travel, and her church. Una dedicated much of her life to caring for her family, friends, and anyone in need of assistance. She will be greatly missed by her devoted family and lovingly remembered for her wonderful sense of humor, honor, integrity, and passionate devotion to her church. The family would like to give special thanks to the caring staff and physicians at CARTI, St. Vincent, and UAMS for their love, care, and compassion. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2015 at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home Chapel, 13801 Chenal Parkway, Little Rock, (501) 224-8300. Interment will follow at Riverwood Memorial Gardens in Maumelle. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 1 at the funeral home.
