Ernest Lowery Cashion

Dr. Ernest Lowery Cashion Jr., 90, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, died Saturday, November 28, 2015. He was born December 29, 1924, in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, a son of Ernest Cashion Sr. and Jessie Mason Cashion. Dr. Cashion served in World War II with the America Division in the Pacific. He graduated from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock in 1951. After graduating Dr. Cashion enjoyed a long career in medicine. In 1967, he became the Chief of Neurosurgery at the Memphis VA Medical Center, where he remained until his retirement. Dr. Cashion enjoyed art, music, traveling, history and bird watching with his wife. Dr. Cashion was a man of few words, he will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. He is preceded in death by a stepson, Steven Rowland. Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Polly Funk Cashion; daughters, Brenda (Lee) Knipfer of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Dr. Anne Burnett (Tony Craig) of Prairie Grove, Arkansas; sons, Charles (Patti) Cashion of Memphis, Tennessee, Sidney Cashion of Tupelo, Mississippi; grandchildren, Katherine (Jesse) Baker of Tulsa, Adam (Jen) Price of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and great-grandchildren, Alice Broach Price of Oklahoma City and Oliver Perry Baker of Tulsa. Graveside services will be 1:30 p.m. Friday, December 4, 2015, at Bellwood Cemetery in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, by Ralph Robinson and Son Funeral Directors.
