Frances Pearl Meaders Norman, age 85, of Springfield, Ark., passed away Friday, Dec. 4, 2015. She was born Dec. 25, 1929, in Center Ridge, Ark. a daughter of James "Jim" Ivory Meaders and Maudy Pearl Scroggins Meaders. She was the widow of Alvie Lee "Pete" Norman, a homemaker, member of Pleasant Springs Baptist Church, and the EH Club. She was fondly known as "Momma Bear" and wrote the Windy Point News for the Petit Jean Headlight for countless years. Survivors include her sisters, Sula Mae Polk and Sally June France both of Springfield, and Betty Merle Kindrick and her husband Joe of Morrilton; seven children, Anna Maudean Morgan and Thomas of Jacksonville, Debra Elizabeth Forrester of Conway, Linda Jane Green of Georgia, Amy Beth Cody-Quin of Hawaii, Joseph Martian Cody of Springfield, James Marion "Ruby" Cody and wife Norma and Barbara Rose Bryant both of Center Ridge; 17 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren, and a whole host of nieces, nephews, friends and family near, far and in between. Other than her husband and parents she was preceded in death by three brothers, Shelby Dean, James Henry, and William "Bill" Earl Meaders all of Center Ridge; one daughter, Elva Mae Whisanant of Conway, one granddaughter, Terry Ann Walls of Conway. Memorial graveside services will be 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 10, 2015, at Kilgore Cemetery with Bro. Eldridge Snow and Bro. Doyle Glass officiating. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to Kilgore Cemetery Association. Arrangements are by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton.
