Jimmie Levern Drye Jr., 69, of Pine Bluff died Saturday. He was born May 15, 1946 in Jefferson County. He was retired from the Pine Bluff Street Department as the Traffic Signal Maintenance Supervisor and a Master Electrician. He was a 1964 graduate of Humphrey High School and was also an Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War from 1965-1969. He loved his daughters and grandchildren dearly. Mr. Drye also loved to fish, while living on the river, making handmade jewelry and was known as a master fish cooker, and enjoyed making new friends near and far through Words with Friends. He is preceded in death by his father, Jimmie Levern Drye Sr., and two sisters, Martha Tregler and Lillian Glover. Survivors include his mother, Nora Drye of Rison, two daughters, April Brandon of Star City and Ann Ross of Hot Springs, four brothers, Tom Drye, Luther Drye, Shane Drye and Dewayne Drye all of Rison and a sister, Katherine Bowers of Russellville. Other survivors include, four grandchildren, Shawn and Triston Ross and Johnathan and Brianna Brandon and a great-grandchild, Cassie Ross. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until funeral time Friday at the Griffin Funeral Chapel in Star City, with the funeral to start at 3 p.m. Arrangements by Griffin Funeral Service in Star City.
