Aloia Eloise (Carroll) Ricks, was born on September 28, 1946 in Little Rock, Arkansas and transitioned to her eternal life on Sunday, November 29, 2015. Eloise was the fourth child born to the late Jerome Carroll, Sr. and Annie Mae (Briggs) Carroll. Eloise took extreme pride in her role as a mother and Grandmother. She enjoyed cooking, entertaining, making clothes, and coin collecting. Eloise is survived by her son, Darrell (Shawn) Ricks and three grandchildren, Imani Ruby Ricks, Nia Aloia Ricks, and Nathan Anderson Ricks of Lewisville, North Carolina; three brothers, Willie Allen (Carolyn) Carroll of Burbank, California; Samuel Earl (Kathleen) Carroll of North Little Rock, Arkansas; and Joseph Barry Carroll of Atlanta, Georgia; four sisters, Mildred Sorrells of Richmond, California; Shirley Ann Pulling of Denver, Colorado; Joyce Marie Carroll and Linda Dianne Carroll of Atlanta, Georgia; one great uncle, Curtis Kizzee of Kalamazoo, Michigan; one uncle, William T. Briggs Sr. of Chicago, Illinois; one aunt, Linnie Belle Briggs-Gordon of Huntsville, Alabama; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Eloise was preceded in death by her parents, five siblings, Barbara Jean Smith, Jerome Carroll Jr., Tommy Lee Pittman, John Anthony Carroll and Alvie Dean Carroll. Visitation/Family Hour will begin on Friday, December 11, 2015, 5-7 p.m. at Mt. Harmony Baptist Church in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, December 12, 2015, at 10:30 a.m. at Mt. Harmony Baptist Church. The Interment will be in Southwood of Graceland Cemetery by Brown Funeral Home of Pine Bluff.
