Woody Duane Newton, of Greenbrier, passed from this life on December 11, 2015, leaving many cherished memories for those who loved him. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Sherry Newton; sons Duane Newton (Arlene Newton) of Littleton, Colo., Woody Devin Newton (Misty Newton) of Greenbrier, Ark., and daughter, Duana M. Newton-Guthrey (Tony Guthrey) of North Little Rock. Mr. Newton had 10 grandchildren (Jeremy, Dwain Jr., Daniel, Woody Derrek, Brandi, Tara, Allyson, Chase, Rebecca, and Kelly) and five great-grandchildren (Jade, Jacob and Jared, and Whitley and Woody Daryl). Mr. Newton was a brick mason by trade and worked 50 years for the Bricklayers & Allied Craftworkers Local #5. Mr. Newton took great pride in his work and was known for his attention to detail and excellent craftsmanship. He loved his family and spending time with them. He enjoyed coon hunting for many years and raising coonhounds, which included Night Champion, Newton's Kansas Mac. His family will miss him greatly, as well as the local community.
