Freda O. Shy

Freda O. Shy, age 87, Cabot, passed away, Tuesday, December 15, 2015. She was born April 7, 1928 in Pope County to William Herbert and Minnie Mae Bachlor Thompson. Freda was a member of McArthur Assembly of God in Jacksonville. She is survived by her son, Charles E. Shy Jr. (Gloria), of Augusta, GA; two daughters, Mary Ann Bland (Alan), and Nancy Kay Johnson, both of Cabot; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and six sisters. Freda was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles E. Shy; son-in-law, James Allen Johnson; five sisters; and three brothers. Freda will lie in state at Roller-Owens Funeral Home, 5509 John F. Kennedy Blvd. (501-791-7400), prior to her funeral service at McArthur Assembly of God in Jacksonville on Saturday, December 19 at 11 a.m. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.
