Mabel Christine Porter

Mabel Christine Porter passed away at her home on December 14th, 2015 with her daughter by her side. She now has her angel's wings and is residing with her Heavenly Father. She was born February 7, 1929 in Hopkinsville, Kentucky to William T. Russell and Cozy Powell. She is preceded in death by her brothers, Johnny, Edwin, and Chester Russell; her sister, Louise Smith; her nephews Lee and Jerry Russell; and her niece Rhonda Russell. She was deeply loved by her family and was survived by three children, Bill and his wife, Lori; Gary and his wife, Sidney; and her daughter, Kathy; five grandchildren, Sonya and her husband, Gregory; Hillary and her husband Gabriel; Cameron; Caitlin; and Sarah and her husband, Shawn; three great-grandchildren all of whom were born in 2014: Olivia, daughter of Hillary and Gabriel; Ethan, son of Sarah and Shawn; and Morgan, daughter of Sonya and Gregory; and her beloved dachshund, Holly. Visitation will be at Griffin Leggett Forest Hills Funeral Home on Saturday, December 19, 2015 at 9 a.m. Funeral service will follow at 10 a.m. Memorials can be made to the Saline County Humane Society or to the Wounded Warrior Project.
