Alan Michael Moix

Alan Michael Moix passed away suddenly Dec. 15, 2015. He was the loving husband of Sandy Burns Moix for 32 years and the proud father of Shawn and Cory Moix. He was a member of Saint Joseph Catholic Church and a perpetual adoration adorer, an active member of the Knights of Columbus Council 4143, a Fourth Degree Knight in Assembly 1703, and the treasurer of the board for the Pine Village Volunteer Fire Department. He was born July 19, 1960 in Conway to Felix Finton Jr. and Mary Catherine (Thines) Moix. He is survived by his parents and brothers Charles (Saddi) Moix, Donnie Moix, and Tim (Ruthy) Moix. Alan was a 1978 graduate of St. Joseph School, he was a strong supporter of his alma mater by spending many hours volunteering with the St Joseph Bazaar and any activities needed. He was a graduate of the University of Central Arkansas where he majored in Business Administration, he used his degree to run his family business, Moix Carpets. Alan was a big supporter of the Boy Scouts of America, especially the Quapaw Area Council. He was a Scout Master of Troop 78 for 10 years and led several treks to Philmont Scout Ranch in Cimarron, N.M. He was so proud of his two boys who each achieved Eagle Scout. Alan was an outdoorsman. He loved hunting, but really enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Alan and Sandy enjoyed traveling out west to the National Parks or to the beach with his toes in the sand. He also was a big fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and loved watching them play in person or on TV. Through every facet of life, Alan was a humble servant, a great friend and mentor to countless people. Alan was preceded in death by his grandparents Felix Finton Sr. and Christine Lillian (Imboden) Moix and C J and Christine (Maus) Thines. Alan is also survived by two nieces & three nephews, several aunts and uncles and cousins. He is loved by many and will be greatly missed. Rosary will be at 6 p.m., Monday, Dec. 21, 2015 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with visitation to follow. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2015 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Robert Cigainero as celebrant. Inurnment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Boy Scouts Troop 78, P.O. Box 1730, Conway, Ark. 72033. Ronnie Kordsmeier, Danny Joe Kordsmeier, Richard Siebenmorgen, Bernie Thines, Tim Nabholz, Mark Fenner and Malcom Seiter will serve as pallbearers.
