James C. Ross

JAMES C. ROSS, age 81, of Jacksonville passed away on Dec. 18, 2015. He was born Jan. 25, 1934 to the late Claude and Minnie Bell Ross. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Emma Armstrong Linkous. He retired after 21 years from the United States Air Force where he served as a crew chief and helicopter mechanic he served on tour in the Korean War, and three tours in Vietnam. His military career allowed him to travel the world and earn numerous awards. After his retirement he spent time hunting, fishing, gardening and spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Charlene Ross, one son, Gregory Ross, three daughters, Teri Lawrence, Denise Ross, and Debbie Ross, one sister Veva Bullock, two brothers, Pete Ross and John Ross, 11 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2015 with a visitation from 10:30 a.m. until service time at Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home.
