John H. Payne

John H. Payne, 65, of Rogers, went to be with the Lord December 20, 2015 in Rogers. He was born January 26, 1950 in Sioux City, Iowa, the son of Oscar and Delores J. Berndt Payne. John retired in 2007 after 31 years as a Journeyman Lineman for Carroll Electric. He was a loving husband, father and papa. He loved going to the beach and enjoyed searching for seashells. John served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He is preceded in death by his parents; one son John H. Payne, Jr. He is survived by his wife Dede Phelps Payne of the home; his son Tim Payne of Rogers; his stepchildren Cliff Garrigus and Dave Garrigus both of Rogers; seven grandchildren, Tristan Hymiller of Bentonville, Skylar, Shea and Madison Payne all of Florida, Taylor, Hunter and McKenzie Garrigus all of Rogers. Visitation Wednesday, December 23, 2015 from 12 to 2 p.m. and services at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Benton County Funeral Home, 306 N. 4th, Rogers. Interment of cremains will be at a later date.
