Wilma J. Kirkland

Wilma J. Kirkland, 79, of Greenbrier, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2015. She was born Wednesday, Dec. 23, 1936 in Searcy, Ark. to the late Cecil Wilber and Elma Ladora Turney Elledge. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Searcy and attended Bethlehem Baptist in Greenbrier. Wilma was a loving and hardworking wife, mother and grandmother. She spent most of her life working on the farm, raising children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Since the passing of her husband, her son, Michael has been her primary caregiver. In addition to the parents, she was preceded in death by her husband and lifelong partner of 51 years, Glenn Kirkland; brothers, Cecil Wilber Elledge, Jr., Hal Elledge; sister-in-law, Donna Fason and brothers-in-law, Jimmy Dickens and Walter "Tiny" Kirkland Survivors include her children: Paul O'Neal Kirkland and wife, Adelpha of Conway, Tim Kirkland of Graniteville, S.C., Vickie Blaylock and husband, Dale of Greenbrier, and Michael Kirkland of Greenbrier; grandchildren: Heath Beaty and wife, Krista, Heather Aich and husband, Josh, Timothy Kirkland and wife, Tammy, Alisa Ellis and husband, Jeremy, Connor Kirkland, Grayson Kirkland, Stephanie Dela-Cruz and husband, Ryan, Joey Mendoza and wife, Kathy, Christina Luyet and husband, Brent, Paul O'Neal Kirkland II, and Nathan Blaylock; great-grandchildren: Caleb and Aubrie Aich, McKenzie and Karlee Beaty, Hannah and Haley Whitfield, T.J., Jimmy, Mina and Sarah Kirkland, Camron Ellis, Ally and Parker Mendoza, Gabby, Danielle and Luke Luyet. Other survivors include siblings: Winnie Brewer and husband, Jim of Tennessee, James Elledge of Texas, Paul Elledge and wife, Beverley of South Carolina; sisters-in-law: Tona Elledge of Searcy, Diane Firestone and husband, James of Vilonia, Debbie West of Conway and Ann Hartsfield and husband, Joe of Greenbrier; along with a host of nieces, nephews, neighbors, friends and classmates. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2015 at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Greenbrier. Funeral services will be 1 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2015 at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Greenbrier with Bro. Freddie Mark Wilcox officiating. Burial will follow in Bethlehem Cemetery.
