Billy C. Strickland Sr.

Billy C. Strickland Sr. of Hampton died Friday, Jan. 30, 2015 at the Dallas County Medical Center in Fordyce. Born Jan. 21, 1931 in Calhoun County, he was a son of the late Doyle and Mallo Blann Strickland. He was a retired carpenter and a member of Victory Baptist Church in Hampton. He was preceded in death by a brother, Larry Strickland. He is survived by his wife, Martha Z. Strickland of Hampton; children, Linda Holder (Patrick) of Hatfield, Ark., Billy "Bubba" Strickland (Dianne) of Hampton, Thomas (Cindy) Strickland of Hampton; sisters, Mercille Buck of Crossett, Shirley Goodson of Potosi, Mo.; six grandchildren, Kirk Holder of Greenville, Texas, Aaron Holder of Hatfield, Ark., Cody Strickland of Hampton, Andrew Strickland of Arkadelphia, Keith Strickland of Hampton, Heath Strickland of Parkers Chapel, Ark.; nine great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Victory Baptist Church. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Victory Baptist Church, with Rev. Eddie Raines officiating.
