Elmer Ira Stetler, 91, of Bella Vista, Ark. was called home by The Lord, Thursday, Jan. 29, 2015. He was born Jan. 24, 1924 in Olivet, South Dakota to Lloyd Stetler and Maggie Boegler Stetler. He proudly served in the United States Navy. Elmer worked as a truck driver, successfully logging over three million miles with a perfect safety record. He loved to hunt, play golf and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. He was a faithful member of Bella Vista Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents and eight siblings. Elmer is survived by his wife of 64 years, Beverly; two daughters, Deanna Kwyzla and husband, John of Bella Vista, Terry Herrington of West Monroe, La.; two brothers, Harold Stetler, Verlin Stetler and wife, Vi; three grandsons, Ryan Kwyzla, Brant Kwyzla, Shane Herrington; one great-granddaughter, Kiersten and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be at 1:30 Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2015 at the Bella Vista Baptist Church, with Pastor Michael McCauley officiating. Burial will be in the National Cemetery in Fayetteville with military honors provided by the Navy. In honor of Elmer Stetler, memorials may be made to the Bella Vista Baptist Church, 50 East Lancashire Boulevard, Bella Vista, AR 72714.
