Marie E. Nagle of Cabot, Ark. passed away early Friday morning, 30 Jan., 2015 at Springhill Baptist Hospital in North Little Rock, Ark. Marie was surrounded by her family at the time of her passing; she was 79 years old. Marie Elizabeth (Wilson) Nagle was named after her mother's sister, Jenny Marie and her father's sister, Elizabeth. Born on a Monday, 8 Jul., 1935 to wonderful parents, Donald and Zelpha (Warren) Wilson in Atlantic, Iowa. She was the oldest of the four Wilson children. After graduating from Atlantic High School in 1953, she took a job at Farm Bureau Insurance in Des Moines, Iowa as a key-punch operator. On 15 Apr., 1955, Marie married the love of her life, James "Jim" Nagle. They shared 39 happy years of marriage together until he was suddenly taken from her in 1995. During their life together, they moved to three different assignments with the U.S. Air Force, raised two children, took much joy in their three beautiful grandchildren, enjoyed bowling, camping, gardening, and made many life-long friends during their journey together. They often said that they wanted to live life with no regrets, and they made sure that they lived up to that statement. Marie enjoyed a 25 year career in the Civil Service, and in much of her spare time she delighted in being a member of many bowling leagues, and participated in several state and national bowling tournaments. In 2014 Marie had the honor of being inducted into the Jax Air Base USBC Hall of Fame. For over 52 years, Marie had a passion for bowling, and it was through her love of the sport that she forged so many meaningful friendships. Friendships that stood by her through all of life's ups and downs, even until the end her friends were by her side. Marie would say that these people were more than just friends; they were family to her and she loved them dearly. Marie was also a member of the Marshall Road Baptist Church in Jacksonville, Ark. She looked forward to her morning Senior Sunday School Class each week. Marie was preceded in her death by her mother and father, her loving stepmother Lola Belle (Spoo) Wilson, and her cherished husband Jim Nagle. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Roger and Kathy Nagle of Omaha, Neb.; her daughter and son-in-law, Tandra and James Watkins of Miami, Fla.; her grandchildren, Andru Watkins, Deanna Nagle, and Angela Nagle; her stepgrandchildren, Mary and Jamie Hiatt; her brothers, Lloyd Wilson of Atlantic, Iowa, Dale Wilson of Crocker, Mo., and David Wilson of Casa Grande, Ariz.; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. And finally her cats, Tom and Ringo who gave her much delight, unconditional love, and kept her lap warm. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2015 in the chapel of Griffin Leggett Rest Hills, 7724 Landers Road, North Little Rock (501) 835-3515. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. today (Monday) at the funeral home. Because of the good work that they do, Marie would have been pleased to have donations made to any of these two organizations in lieu of flowers: Jax Air Base Wanda Soule/Marie Nagle Youth Scholarship Fund, C/O Lyla Queen, 173 Casey Lane, Cabot, AR 72023 or Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation of Arkansas, 904 Autumn Rd., Unit 500, Little Rock, AR 72211-3702. Marie told the story that when she was a little girl riding in the car with her father along the country roads near her home in Iowa farm country, she would stand up when they approached a hill and on the way down she would say to the birds sitting along the fence, "Look out birdies here comes Marie!" trying to coax them to get out of her way. Here is to Marie's last ride home. To sign the online guestbook, go to www.griffinleggettresthills.com.
