Alta Mae Merritt

Alta Mae Merritt, 77, of Greenbrier went to be with the Lord Tuesday February 3, 2015. She was born August 11, 1937 in Mt. Vernon, Ark. to the late Carlos O. White and Edith A. Keathley White. She was also preceded in death by her son, Lyndall Wayne Merritt and one sister, Joann White. Mrs. Merritt was a long time member of the First Baptist Church in Greenbrier. She was church treasurer and played the organ for many years at the church. Mrs. Merritt enjoyed reading, fishing and going on family vacations. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Mrs. Merritt is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Seth Merritt Jr., son, Seth David Merritt, daughter, Sheri Terry and husband Stan and one grandson, Wayne all of Greenbrier. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, February 5, 2015 at First Baptist Church in Greenbrier, with Bro. Sam Parker officiating. Burial will follow at Thorn Cemetery.
