John Alvin Harper

JOHN ALVIN HARPER, age 85, of North Little Rock passed away Feb. 6, 2015 at Baptist Hospital North Little Rock. He was born on Feb. 2, 1930 in Oak Grove, North Little Rock, Ark. He was the son of John Riley and Alliemae Harper. John was a skilled cabinet maker for R & R Cabinet Shop for 50 years. He was a member of Levy Baptist Church for 50 years and enjoyed outdoor sports including hunting, fishing, camping and waterskiing. He is preceded in death by his son, Alvin Wade Harper (Diana); his parents; his sisters, Ruth Creasy, Mary Sowell, Thelma Huckaby and his brother, Eldon Harper. Survivors include his beloved wife of 64 years, Wanda (Patsy); his daughter, Celenda Perry (Michael); his grandson, Mark; daughter-in-law, Diana; his granddaughter, Beatrice Perry; his brother, James Harper and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2015 at Huson Funeral Home Chapel at 7700 Highway 107, Sherwood, Ark., with burial immediately following at Pinecrest Memorial Park Cemetery in Alexander. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 9, 2015 at Huson Funeral Home in Sherwood.
