Janice Avra Hannon of Hot Springs was born November 17, 1934 and was swept away peacefully to be with her husband, family, and friends in Heaven on February 7, 2015. Janice, Mother, Mom, Aunt Janice, or Mimi as we all called her was born in North Little Rock, AR to Ernest Joseph Avra Sr. and Beulah (Jimmie) Wright Avra. Graduated from North Little Rock High School and attended State Teachers College for two years then fell in love with the love of her life Bobby Hannon and began her family with him. A devoted wife of 53 years, there was nothing more that fulfilled her life than being together with all of her family on every, or any, occasion. She was the true stable rock of the family that was there for whomever needed her. Her brother and sister have always said that she was the best little sister they could have ever had. Even her grandchildren to this day would call her on a daily basis. She by far was the most positive and optimistic person that all of us knew. It can be seen in her children and grandchildren. Her favorite things to do were watch sports, play games (Dominos, Skip Bo, and Bridge), and teach her grandchildren how to play them with her including spades and poker. Watching sports with her, especially football, was a joy for everyone because she knew more about the sport and game than anyone. She will be forever missed by this family and thought of everyday. Janice was preceded in death by her late husband Bobby Hannon Sr. Her parents, and her brother in law Charles Gray of Hot Springs. She is survived by her three children Lisa Hannon Madden (Don) of Newport Beach, Calif., Bobby Hannon Jr. of Hot Springs, Bridget Hannon Summers (Bob) of Maumelle, Ark., her brother, Ernest Avra Jr. (Jo) of Conway, Ark., sister Bettye Avra Gray of Hot Springs; four grandchildren, Beau Harvey, Trish Jordan, Lauren Pope, and Don Allen Madden III, 2 step-grandchildren, Taylor Summers and Golden Puckett, six great-grandchildren and five step-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the National Kidney Foundation, 30 East 33rd Street, New York, N.Y. 10016. Guests may register at www.caruth-hale.com.
