Norman A. "Little Man" Parrish Jr., 56, of Fort Smith, passed away February 8, 2015 in Fort Smith. Norman was born July 9, 1958 in El Paso, Texas and he was a 1977 graduate of Northside High School. He was named the Southwest Times Record and Arkansas, 1976 Football Player of The Year. He was an All-State and All-Conference nose guard, and he was named the Most Outstanding Lineman in the 1977 Arkansas High School Football All-Star game. "Little Man" received a football scholarship from the University of Arkansas where he was a member of the 1977-1978 Orange Bowl team. He was a printing press operator for C & J Forms and Labels and he enjoyed hunting and fishing. In 1999-2000 he was the awarded the Triple Trophy by the Arkansas Game and Fish. Norman was a very dedicated Razorback Fan, he was a loving husband, and he was a God fearing Christian family man. Norman was preceded in death by his mother, Jane Parrish Biggs; his step-father, Ray Biggs; and his father, Norman Parrish Sr. He is survived by his wife of thirty years, Stephanie Parrish; one daughter, Samara Hernandez and her husband Morgan; one son, Norman Parrish III; three sisters, Jackie Harris, Norma Stephens, and Arlene Dillion; and six grandchildren, Bevin, Malichi, Gage, Jessie, Ian, and Haden. Funeral Service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, February 13, 2015, in Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor John Stewart officiating. Services and cremation are under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home. Visitation will be Thursday, February 12, 2015, from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. at Edwards Funeral Home.
