Elizabeth Corinne Garrison, of Sherwood, peacefully left this world to be with Jesus on Tuesday, February 10, 2015. We are comforted knowing that Libby is free from illness and reunited with family and friends. The youngest of three girls, Libby was born on May 23, 1929 in Clarksburg, WV to Clyde and Nell Robinson. She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Mary Jean Cates and Patty Post. Libby graduated high school in 1947 with her future husband, Jack; they enjoyed the many times they returned for their class reunions. Libby attended the Greenbrier College for Women for two years and graduated with a degree in Social Work from West Virginia University, where she was a proud member of Pi Beta Phi. After moving to California for a job, she and Jack were married near Alameda Naval Station in 1954. They moved to Ft. Worth, Texas where Libby was a Social Worker for the Red Cross. They later returned to West Virginia in 1956 and started their family. They lived in Ohio; Michigan; and Massachusetts, where they met their life-long friends, the Carneys. In 1970 they made their final move to Arkansas. Libby was blessed to take many business trips with Jack. During that time she developed a love for traveling. She loved Lake Ouachita and spent many of her early years there camping with family and friends at Crystal Springs, and her later years at Mt. Harbor with her daughter and friends. Libby has many cherished memories that she takes with her, among her happiest being at the Bridge table with friends. She was a member of Lakewood UMC and a past member of UMW. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Jack; daughter, Dinah (Jack) Henderson of Little Rock; son, Bobby Garrison of North Little Rock; and son, Tom (Lisa) Garrison of Springdale. She also leaves behind five grandchildren: Alan and Hilary Henderson; Jack Garrison; and Katherine and Matthew Garrison. Visitation is Saturday, Feb 14th from 1:30-3 p.m. at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills, 7724 Landers Road, North Little Rock, Ark. with a memorial to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sjogren's Syndrome Foundation Inc. 6707 Democracy Blvd., Ste 325, Bethesda, Md. 20817 or a charity of your choice.
