Martha Frances Duke

Martha Frances Fowler Duke passed away peacefully at home on February 8, 2015 at the age of 72. She was born October 27, 1942 in Little Rock, Ark., to parents, James Carrol Fowler and Helen Lee Fuller of Brinkley, Ark. Her paternal grandparents were Doc F. and Frances M. Jones Fowler of Madisonville, Ky. , and her maternal grandparents were A.W. and Martha G. Jackson Fuller of Brinkley, Ark. Mrs. Duke was a devoted homemaker and mother and possessed an extraordinarily generous spirit. She was a thoughtful listener and advisor. She was also an avid gardener, skilled decorator, and fantastic cook. She loved reading and wildlife, but got the most joy from entertaining and in later years hosting her children and grandchildren at her home. She is preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Dr. E.B. Duke Jr. of Forrest City, Ark., and a brother, James Warner Fowler of Brinkley, Ark. She is survived by her brother, Steve Fowler and his wife, Rhonda Culbertson Fowler, of Fayetteville, Ark., three sons, Randy Duke of Dallas, Texas, Jay Duke of New Orleans, La., and B. Scott Duke of Memphis, Tenn., and his wife, Emily Fitzpatrick Duke. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Gunnar and Piper Duke of Dallas, Rylie Duke of Memphis, and several nephews and nieces. Services will be held at Graham Memorial Presbyterian Church in Forrest City, Ark. on February 14 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Graham Memorial Presbyterian Church, 402 Dillard St., Forrest City, Ark. 72335 or the Forrest City Area Humane Society, P.O.
