James Carlton Miller Davis, 21, of Russellville died Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2015 at CHI St. Vincent Infirmary Medical Center in Little Rock. He was born July 23, 1993 in Russellville. He was a 2012 graduate of Russellville High School and was a student at Arkansas Tech University. He was employed at the KXIO Coffee House in Clarksville. He loved music and had been a member of the Russellville High School Band and the Arkansas Tech University Marching Band. He was a member of First Baptist Church, where he played in the orchestra. He loved sports and playing Ultimate Frisbee. He was preceded in death by five great-grandfathers and a great-grandmother, James G. Westbrook, Ramon M. Miller, Walter Scott, Hugh Porter and Glen and Lucy Davis. Survivors include his parents, Carl Davis and Ashley Miller Davis of Russellville; two sisters, Carson Paige Miller Davis and Cameron Joy Miller Davis, both of Russellville; a brother, Kennedy Michael Miller Davis of Russellville; his maternal grandparents, Mike and Joy Miller of Russellville; his paternal grandparents, Carlton and Shelley Davis of Evening Shade and Joyce Davis of Rural Retreat, Va.; three great-grandmothers, Melba Miller of Benton, Vasca Westbook of Malvern and Jettie Umberger Porter of Wytheville, Va. and many aunts, uncles and cousins. The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 16, 2015 at First Baptist Church in Russellville, officiated by the Rev. Stephen Davis and the Rev. Tommy Havens. Burial will be private, under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville. Pallbearers will be Allen Snider, John Kreun, Connor Harris, Ben Drain, Reed Gotcher, Jacob Phillips, Andrew Dixon and Ashton Barborek. The family will receive friends on Sunday afternoon from 3-5 p.m. at the funeral home.
